Infant and Baby Massage

This services is for 3 x 1 hour sessions.

Bonding is just that, a process and not something that happens instantly or quickly. In some cases it can happen immediately after birth while in others it may take a long time for a parent to bond with their baby due to a variety of reasons including a difficult pregnancy or birth experience, lack of sleep, colicky baby etc. It’s a dance that builds trust and intimacy.

Bonding is the process of baby and parents getting to know each other after birth or it can happen during pregnancy.

Touch becomes an early language that is easily understood, as babies respond to skin-to-skin contact and it is crucial for our survival as a species. It's soothing for both parent and baby while promoting baby's healthy growth and development.

From early life the relationship built with baby can be critical for all other social interactions. Regular infant massage can enhance or start this bond. Research has found that massage can not only improves the relationship between parents and baby but it also can relieve stress in premature infants and ease postpartum depression.

The characteristics of a parent/caregiver can influence the way baby responds and vice versa. Also the bonding needs to take place within the wider family circles eg grandparents, friends etc

I am an International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) trained instructor. IAIM is the largest and most experienced infant massage organisation in the world with a presence in more than 50 countries.
